If you’re a Unifi user facing poor Internet connectivity, you’re not alone. According to Telekom Malaysia, all Unifi users in the Central region (encompassing Kuala Lumpur and Selangor) using TM’s DNS are currently facing slow and intermittent Internet connection.

This issue has been plaguing users since yesterday, resulting in plenty of complaints aired to TM via its official Twitter customer support account. According to TM, there is an issue with the DNS which is caused by high traffic in the Central region, causing intermittent connectivity for all Unifi users in that area. As of 12pm today, this issue is still affecting users.

In addition, other Unifi users around the country may also experience slow connectivity due to the restoration works on the South East Asia – Middle East – Western Europe (SMW4) submarine cable that was damaged three weeks ago. According to an update from TM, the restoration works are expected to be completed today, which means users should experience faster connection speeds to Europe-based servers once service has been fully restored.

In the meantime, it appears TM is still investigating the issue affecting Central region subscribers. Meanwhile, stay tuned to TM’s @TMConnects Twitter account for more updates.
